Video not displaying from pyxis 6k to Blackmagic 12G

Hello guys,

New to the form. I just received my pyxsis 6k and the Blackmagic 12g video assit 7 inch monitor. I connected it via SDI cable but it's not displaying the video from the pyxsis 6k onto the monitor. Just a black screen. Source is set to SDI. Codec says not supported. Camera set to open gate resolution. I don't see that option in the 12g monitor?

What is the issue? Do I need to get that new 5 inch monitor for Blackmagic ? Is the open gate resolution not supported on the 7 inch 12G Blackmagic monitor?

My first thought was use this, rather than the Video Assist.

Did you select 1080p on the camera SDI feed? Is that what the BMVA12G expects to see?

The assist is likely set to braw, set the codec to prores and you should be sweet.

What about using a USB-c to HDMI cable for this to work? I’ve tried a few brands and have moderate success, flickering of the screen, possibly due to the speed of the cable? Does blackmagic have any recommendations for an HDMI to USB type C?
