Ursa cine 17k resolution change?

PostSun Dec 15, 2024 5:38 am

While looking for if there was any information online about the Ursa cine 17k frame rates, I stumbled upon a listing from avl gear that seems to have gotten it wrong where it says that the camera has a 17000 x 9000 resolution with a 35 x 24mm sensor at up to 120 frames per second. Besides the sensor resolution being way off in any case, The only reason this interests me is that it would put it in the exact threshold for what I truly wanted in terms of resolution, that being something that could do exact 16k dci deliverables, which in my view would be THE golden ticket for widespread adoption of a camera like this as it was always going to be an uphill battle for adoption but by being within the realms of an actually discussed industry standard, then I think at the very least it would fit into workflows with those requirements, so if anyone has any information as to whether this is the case or more like a fluke please let me know.

Yes, they got it wrong, but all is good. Check out today’s new thread on the Cine 17K.
