Audio input issue - BMD Camera App _ Iphone

PostSun Dec 22, 2024 4:47 pm

Hey guys.

Here is the scenario. I have the Iphone 15 Pro with the Tilta Khronos USB C hub attached which has a headphone jack). When i connected the Tilta I set is as a headphone device when I got the IOS popup (Cubic Lattice Audio) ... Now I also have a Movo USB C TRS mic adapter connected for my LAV input (USB PNP AUDIO DEVICE) (device set to other devices in IOS).

I am trying to maintain the Tilta as my monitor output and the Movo as my mic input..

However with both devices connected.. I can only select None, iPhone mic, or the last connected device for my Audio source, but the last device is also the only option under Audio Output. Every time I try to select the other device as my Audio Source.. it bounces back to the incorrect device.

Other combinations work... I could use Iphone mic as source but Tilta as monitor... Movo as source but a Bluetooth headset as monitor.... but the combo i need for wired headphones will not work.

Attaching a short video for you to see. In the video.. every time i select the PNP device is jumps to cubic.. but if i select iPhone or none.. its stays.

thank you!
Chad... please LMK if you have any Qs. - BMD Camera app is 2.2.000142 on IOS 18.3 beta.

I have a similar issue, I'm using BMC with iPhone 15 Pro Max, USB-C out to HDMI dongle with USB Hub, in the USB Hub a RODE VideoMIC II. I have enable audio supervision in order to get sound through the HDMI out and record both video an audio on OBS. The problem is that when I select VideoMIC II as the audio input, since the VideoMIC has an audio output jack, for some reason it selects automatically the VIDEOMIC as the audio output for supervision, so no sound on the HDMI out. If you replug in the HDMI out, then input switches to the iPhone mic and sound is HDMI out. But as soon as you select the VideoMIC as the input, it also switches it as the output.
The only solution I have found is to use a separate audio cable for the sound from the VideoMIC audio jack to the MacBook audio jack and use this as input source.

I think this is probably a bug in the BlackMagic Camera IOS App, but I don't know how to report it to the developer team...
