Pyxis PL mount question

PostThu Feb 20, 2025 2:24 pm

Hi all. Read the manual and did Google research but one question remains unanswered:

Can the PL mount on the Pyxis provide power to a cine servo lens or not?

Manual only has this information:

Cooke /i Technology Interface
Blackmagic PYXIS 6K PL mount models feature four pins at the 12 o’clock position that are used
to communicate with lenses featuring Cooke’s /i Technology interface. The lenses that support
this interface include lenses from Canon, Cooke, Fujinon, Leica and Zeiss. This lets you record
lens information in your clips’ metadata such as the lens model, focal length, aperture setting,
focus distance and other lens specific information.

Thanks for all answers.

In most cases PL cine servos use the same Hirose connector that broadcast lenses use. Canon zooms will power from EF or RF mount and I believe there are some e mount Sony lenses that function similarly.

PL-/i is basically a serial rs232 connection so a couple volts and milliamps of current, no servo power.

Good Luck
