Recording Multiple Camera Tracks with ATEM Constellation

Urgent Help Needed!

We're facing a challenge with our small studio production setup for live events and classic recordings. Initially, we started with the ATEM Mini Pro ISO using HDMI inputs. As we upgraded our cameras to use SDI cables, we had to convert them to HDMI for our ATEM. However, the four inputs quickly became insufficient, leading us to acquire an ATEM Mini Extreme ISO. Unfortunately, we had to convert the SDI channels from our cameras to HDMI again for this device as well.

Even with eight channels, we soon found ourselves needing more inputs. Our next upgrade was the ATEM 2 M/E Constellation, accompanied by a HyperDeck Studio HD Plus and an ATEM Micro Panel. However, we overlooked how to record each camera track separately. Using more converters to send each output from the Constellation to the ATEM Mini Extreme ISO seems costly and inefficient.
How can we utilize our equipment to record again? What additional hardware or software do we need? How do other productions solve this issue when they need more than the eight inputs available on an ISO device?

We would greatly appreciate any advice or solutions you can offer!

U can record directly in cameras (if thery have recording function) .. Or Hyperdeck for EVERY camera .. U can use 4K Hypredeck to record 4x HD .. or 8K Hyperdeck for record 16 x HD ..

Just to add: I has been integrated rack with HyperDeck's for multi-camera recording, of course they are versatile (use certified SD card or SSD drives or now network ) you can also record in different codecs, depending on the requirements of your workflow (ProRes, DNxHD, H.264).

Another option that I have used, the Shogun Classic 7", to record up to 4 HD x ISO recording.
In my experience it has worked very well. (NOTE: the Shogun always needs a signal on INPUT-1, because, in simple words, it is the signal that synchronizes all the others)

I think your workflow is HD (not UHD/4K), just to keep in mind for the correct integration hardaware now and or in the future.

Recording within a vision mixer/switcher like an Atem is a very niche solution (It's a great solution for small productions that allows Atem's to offer great value, the Rødecaster video solution also offers it I see)

Once you outgrow an Atem ISO though, you're in the realms of recording to external devices (which also record in far higher quality potentially - moving from 4:2:0 h.264 to something higher quality like 4:2:2 ProRes or DNX) like Hyperdecks, AJA and Atomos devices. (Broadcasters use Pronology or EVS servers too)

What are the 12 SDI outputs doing that they can't be used for routing iso records?
