Thanks, I was not meaning to be sarcastic at all, I was just trying to muddle through the info to see if anyone has their camera or heard anything other than the vague updated by BMD.

Other than the lucky fellow in Singapore who recently reported receiving a BMCC ... and possibly in the past day or so someone in Australia (Nick B., was it you who heard about that one?) ... I haven't heard of other end-user customers who have recently received cameras they ordered.

I suspect there might a few others, but not everyone posts about their new acquisitions online.

In other words, the "trickle" continues ...

evidently, one guy in Singapore (me...) has received their camera. out of the 20+ my dealer ordered, i got the first one. the rep said there are 3 in the country, and the other two are in the Singapore BMD office.

Unfortunately, the thread on BMCuser where I "announced" your recent acquisition of a BMCC quickly degenerated into an argument about Australia's manufacturing prowess relative to the rest of the world, and worse ...

well clearly we got mad skills... oops i digress. yeah so many threads have gone downhill. but it's a great time with all the new cams coming out. i just ordered some Hero 3s. i started a fun (but serious) project with the BMCC with a lot of night shooting - on the bus, along the wet footpath, in a grocery store.

Its quiet obvious the thread did not degenerate at all but point to the likelihood of a mass production electrical goods arriving anytime soon given the track record of Australia's manufacturing prowess in this area. If this reality is fulfilled by BMD it would be the first in Australian history. While I believe anything is possible history says otherwise.

And don't you forget it was my posts to Grant Petty that got him to speak in the last 2 updates on here ;) I doubt you have got him to posts anything despite your frequent contributions.

You're welcome to your opinions about an entire country's manufacturing capabilities, but in addition to such comments being slanderous, unhelpful, and -- especially in regards to Blackmagic Design -- untrue, at best such comments belong in the Off Topic section, not here.

As for your repeating again the assertion that you are solely or primarily responsible for Grant Petty posting his shipping updates messages: Can offer credible evidence of it? I have my doubts, but if you have proof to show us, great, otherwise please don't mention it again.

Has to do with the fact that if BMCC isn't out by the time the C100 comes out they might loose out of a few sales!

Bill Rich wrote:Thank you Thomas.. Yes this is the "Update on Camera Shipments" thread.. and it has gone astray..

This is a just a guess.. but I believe the comparisons between the BMCC vs C100 on this thread is a thinly veiled threat to prompt the fine folks at BMD to start shipping the BMCC's or people will tire of waiting and cancel their BMCC orders and buy the C100 instead (again.. just a guess.. I might be wrong). I too have been guilty of that as well in a time of weakness.. (ie: too much brown liquor)
Or perhaps they are too lazy to start a new forum topic. I dunno.

Believe me, I am as eager and frustrated as everyone else here to get my BMCC.. I'm definitely one of those people that has little patience for having to wait for a freshly ordered camera or bit of gear. So you can imagine what a challenge waiting for my BMCC has been (do they make video gear prozac?)

This is an exciting time to be a videographer/cinematographer/DoP/Camera Dude or Dudette! There are very cool new cameras being announced every few months now it seems.. (I'm totally getting the GoPro Hero3 Black Edition) And the BMCC for me is right on the top of that list! (damn where is that prozac?)

It's just like they said in the movie "Field of Dreams"
~ If you build it.. they will come.

Also.. the folks that have been 'reviewing' the BMCC that I've seen so far are NOT paid to do so.. at least Philip Bloom, Den Lemmie, Vincent Laforet, (apologies for any misspellings) etc.. They are established industry folks that BMD has sent cameras to for feedback and review. ie; to get the word out by putting the camera in capable hands to make pretty pictures. and to let folks know what they think of the camera. I don't believe that John Brawley is being paid by BMD either.. I'm sure he can weigh in on that himself since he occasions this forum.

So to bring the thread back true..
I had some great shoots over the weekend I had wished I had my BMCC on.. So I'm eagerly waiting for Grant to bring us good BMCC shipping news on his next update!

Just food for thought on being paid ...I myself am in the intertaintment industry and have been since 2002,and I have companies that send me items to wear for promotional purposes and some do pay...but I cannot disclose that...I don't want the $$$ to stop coming in! It's a business and its called marketing ,they will never tell.. Look at bloom for instance the guy is paid by canon haven't you noticed he mentions the c300 in every single review or article ,as well as shoots the reviews with a c300 ...I remember a shot on the BMCC review he even showed a shot of the c300 recording the review...

Pulled directly from Philip Bloom's review of the BMCC (and at the top of all of his reviews)

ETHICS STATEMENT: BlackMagic supplied me a camera for testing and evaluation purposes. I have not been paid for this and will never be paid by a manufacturer to review a product. This was all done in my own time and it took A LOT of time for the readers of my blog. If you do decide after watching this to purchase the camera doing so through my affiliates makes these reviews possible as I can’t work when making these! Please read more on my ethics statement here. If you want to make a small donation to help me make these I would be very grateful! Please use the flattr button at the bottom of the blog. I appreciate it!

The new F camcorder by Sony sounds like it might be quite interesting. 35mm sensor, high frame rates etc. To be announced on 30th of this month.

Just curious where you got that impression?

Taken from CVP preorder site for the new sony cam:

We're not allowed to disclose exact specifications at the moment, all we can say for sure is that "TheNewF is probably the most exciting product that we can't tell you about"

Official Information from Sony:
"HIGH FRAME RATE"
"4K"
"50Mb/s 4:2:2"
"CineAlta badged"

Rest assured that we'll bring you more information, pricing, images, video content ASAP, so check back regularly...

It wont be a "budget" camera, but might be worth looking at if they deliver the goods with it

I'm not even sure if I'm asking the question correctly there, but if you or others can shed light on the topic I'd appreciate it. Thanks & cheers.

I see that "some cameras" made it to France (according to some Facebook pictures). I called B&H and they still have no update and no idea when they will arrive. What are you guys hearing since BMD is not really communicating real updates.

In the past few days, there are reports of 1 "new" BMCC in Singapore, another in Australia, and now another in France.

Too few to discern a pattern, other than that the numbers are obviously extremely low.

Visual Impact France also received a unit (I'm on their looooong list). They wrote that the camera will be available in store as of novembre 23rd (I don't know if they mean that a demo camera will be available for hands-on or if they will be able to fulfill the pre-orders).

I hope Grant gets some news soon about the camera, it's mighty frustrating when it's the best camera in it's price point and yet hardly any of us have used one.
This may sound weird but I feel bad for Blackmagic that so many things keep going wrong for they're production!

I am really pulling for BMD and you folks on this one.
I moved on and got a Scarlet and will be forever in debt :P
But, I will get to shoot something at least :)
Come spring I am hoping that I can walk into a nearby shop and pick up a BMCC.
My ViewFactor cage purchased back in August will thank me for it ;)

Yeh I suspect if they have more info they will share it.
The company I preordered with said it's rumoured to come December or post Christmas however rumour is the key word. They are a bm authorised reseller and have been for years but they still don't have a definitive answer, most likely because BM still don't have the answers they need either.
As I alluded to before I think BM are just as unhappy as us not being able to deliver the camera on time or so far from the said date.

I hope the next update we get from Mr. Grant Petty (the one "due" right about now) will contain concrete information, such as quantities and dates for BMCC shipments, and perhaps a description of how BMD is allocating cams worldwide.

Even just quantitative ranges would be welcome; doesn't have to be exact numbers, e.g.: are we talking about 5-10 cameras per week, 50-100?, 500-1,000?, or what?

Cheers.

It´s friday morning in Australia.

Cheers.

Hmm you've asked for this every week and not got what you wanted... what makes this week different?

I figure it doesn't hurt to ask. And posting is "free". :D

Sorry, I've been too busy to give any updates. Units are slowly shipping. Cameras are trickling out. We're doing everything we can do. Go ask your dealer what's going on.

If I remember to repeat this script each week, you can have more of these updates for the next several months.

Thank you.
