Camera settings seem to change while filming?!?!?

PostThu Apr 17, 2025 5:40 pm

I'm beyond frustrated at this point. Support have been less than helpful.

I have two cinema 6ks and one of them is causing untold issues. I use one as a static face cam, but while editing footage the BRAWs are essentially ruined because the footage keeps randomly blowing out in a way I can't (and shouldn't have to) fix on the color page.

It's like the ISO is changed for a minute or two giving me a SUPER over exposed shot.

You can see it in the timeline

Obviously I'm not changing anything, the cameras are both on tripods.

This is regularly ruining shoots. Any ideas?!?!?

Do you know it’s an erratic ISO or could it be related to your lens aperture changing? What lens are you using and does it support an electrical connection to the camera? Have you looked at the contacts of the camera and lens to see if they’re clean and aligned?

Make sure you haven't enabled the Auto Exposure feature. Iris > Auto Exposure or Shutter > Auto Exposure.

Hey Rick, thanks for responding.

I'm not actually sure if the ISO is actually changing, I was just using that as a descriptor of what it's doing to the footage visually.

Lens is a Sigma 24-70mm F2.8. I'll take it off and check contacts.

Either way, it changing while filming and not being touched feels like a software issue. I'm just trying to get some experienced opinions before trying support again.

Thanks for that Roger

I'll be filming today, so I'll check. I'm pretty sure it's not enabled. But regardless, it shouldn't be making dramatic changes like that while filming in a space that has zero outside light coming in right?
