Media Pool empty but everthing is in timeline

PostThu Apr 17, 2025 5:20 pm

I've been editing in DR for several years, and released smaller projects. This is my first over an hour in finished length, and doesn't use that many elements to it. Hence, I didn't use any bins, since there were only like 10-15 things and all appeared in the Master media pool.

I've been working on it for about a month, and all of a sudden yesterday, the media pool went totally blank. I don't mean 'off line' - I mean totally blank - nothing there at all! (One can't re-link if there is nothing there!) The clips appear as normal in the timeline.

The timeline is there and I can even still work on it. But this makes me extremely nervous. I had worked several hours after my last backup before this occurred, and it's a huge editing job, so I don't want to go back to the previous backup.

I have searched extensively for any hints as to how to restore the media pool, maybe from the timeline, but I am finding nothing about it. I am using DR Studio 19.1.4 Build 11. I can't figure out how to post a screen capture in here to show what I'm seeing.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Have you tried a UI reset? Maybe it's just a visual glitch. Just a guess...

What happens if you export your timeline as a drt and import that into a new project ?

You could import your used media into a new bin, select all clips in your timeline,
disable the conform lock and File > "Reconform from Bins...".
Be sure to only select the new bin in the Reconform dialog.

Clips in a timeline have to be in the Media Pool. Are you looking in the Master for Power Bins by mistake?
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.
