Davinci resolve media offline problem

i started getting media offline 3 days ago.
i search for a solution. and it turns out its the cache/playback issue
everytime i change the playback render cache to (NONE) the media offline is gone
my main reason is sometimes i add a lot of effects and i cant watch the playback properly so i really need the playback render cache to smart and timeline playback to half, i thought my problem is only on a specific project, but it turns out everytime i make a new project and put a video in timeline, as soon as i select render cache to smart or user, and playback to half, media offline will appear on my video.
somebody have the same problem? if so please tell me what i need to do.

Same problem, using RENDER CACHE results in an immediate MEDIA OFFLINE. If you delete the cache files or turn off the RENDER CACHE, the problem goes away. My problem seems to have started the same time as you around the 4/17/2025 timeframe; not sure if there was a DaVinci patch release that coincided with this problem. I reinstalled STUDIO BETA 20.0B BUILD 23 and the problem reoccurs. I created a new project, used a previous DaVinci generated video and the problem reoccurs. I reinstalled my NVIDIA drivers but no change.

We'll need to wait for more people to run into this and Blackmagic to work on it. For a workaround try using optimized media or manually pre-render. This is a pain but it'll give you a way to finish your current project.

BTW I have another similar problem in that my render aborts in an error. I suspect the problem is related as it refers to unable to access media; but playback on all tabs doesn't see any issue.

I had the same issue with the RENDER CACHE files showing MEDIA OFFLINE which also started last week. I found two issues in my project which seemed to cure it; not sure which. I found a generated media that I deleted and added back in. This fixed my render issue aborting. Thinking I may have more corrupted media I also went into MANAGE RENDER CACHE and manually deleted all cache files for this project. There were 50GB files that the DELETE RENDER CACHE ALL function did not catch.

My render now works and I don't get the MEDIA OFFLINE message.
