Cache status Bypass with Ripple

PostTue Apr 22, 2025 6:10 pm

Bug or Feature request in Version 19. On Node layer 1 with a Neat Video plugin on ALL SHOTS in timeline; if I bypass the Neat Video node and "ripple select" OR "ripple value" turning bypass on and the off, by cache on that node is reset and the whole timeline needs to be recached. I was trying to show my client the time with no degrain first and then with degrain. It would have been nice not to have to recache.
Is there a workaround out there and can this be fixed.

What exactly are these?

Those are the Advanced Panel buttons for "ripple node changes. . ." which is also a keyboard shortcut "R"

Ahh.

OK. If you've Bypassed Stack 1, why are you Rippling? (A Bypassed Stack is Bypassed for all clips.)

I'm not talking about stacks. I'm talking about Nodes and Node Layers. The first node of my node-layer-1 is neat video which spans the entire timeline. If I bypass the one node of a shot, the only way to apply that "bypass" state to other clips is to "ripple" that change. When you do that, it resets the cache of those nodes.

Yeah, those Node layers are called Stacks.

If I bypass the one node

Ahh, sorry. I thought you were Bypassing the entire Stack Layer.

Would that approach work for you? Having NR as the only Node on Stack 1? Then you can Bypass the entire Stack and it will 'ripple' automatically.
