How can I change the Davinci theme back?

PostMon Apr 21, 2025 7:03 am

I do not know how can I change the theme in Davinci if I have accidently chose the Premiere theme while installing.

I have tried to uninstall the program and the files of the software in Finder but only got the old theme and no set up on every device (MacBook Pro M1; MacOS 14.4.1 (23E224)) I have tested.

What do you mean by theme? Maybe you mean the keyboard shortcuts? If so, then follow the screenshots below:

Technically when you install Davinci you can choose between different themes but I do not know how can I change from Premiere to Blackmagic. You have not read my question properly.

What do you mean by theme?

Theme means the arrangement and the look of the elements (like virtual buttons) in Davinci. When installing it completely new you can choose between a few thirdparties' (like Adobe, Protool or I think also Apple) software why I do not know how can I change this if I have accidentely chose Premiere while I have started with Davinci.

No.

Afterwards seen, the Welcome Programme is not showing me the same dialoge when I reinstall Davinci why it should be a bug because I can not reset the software cleanly and not really. If you want to change the system you cannot really get proper changes and follow the whishes of the user.

Nobody is understanding your issue. Resolve does not use "themes" for anything. If you use the terms as used by Blackmagic it may be clearer to someone and you may get some help.

Are we perhaps talking about Davinci Resolve from the Apple Store instead of directly from Black Magic? Not a Mac guy, but have seen posts about unusual behaviors with the Apple Store version.

We are not confused about what themes are. We are confused because this does not sound like the Davinci Resolve we know.

Resolve does not support themes. When you first install Resolve, it gives you the option to choose different keyboard layouts, AKA keyboard shortcuts, not themes. And this can be changed as shown in my first reply.

I've never seen that to be true. It's almost certain you're misunderstanding the option to choose which Keyboard Shortcuts Resolve uses. That's the only such option I've ever seen when installing.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.
