After rendering the sound is asynchronous

PostMon Apr 21, 2025 3:14 pm

Hi there,
I suddenly have the problem that when rendering the sound of the video is asynchonous. It is always off by seven frames.

Before, for months, it worked fine.

What can I do?

Thanks for you help

Jordi

That sounds (mysteriously) like the infamous drop/non-drop problem, or the difference between 23.98 and 24.00. What speed is your video material? What speed is your sound? What specific formats are you using?

What happens if you render out to ProRes 422HQ and then later convert that to H.264 (assuming that's where you're going with this)?

Sorry, it is not 7 seconds, but 7 frames.

I am using the standard H.264 Master settings, which worked fine before.

Sound and video is 25 frames.

I always used MPEG4, H.264 settings.

I tried ProRes 422HQ, but the result is a black screen, no video, only sound.

What's your source material, Jordi? From what camera?

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

At the moment, I am reediting a video which I made a couple of weeks ago,
and which was rendered using the standard H.264 Master settings.
The original footage was shot with a Canon 60D.

I tried out footage from different cameras, and all have the same problem, they are all off by 7 frames.

Maybe it helps, if I reinstall Studio 19.
