CTD = crash to desktop
I get the logo splash screen with "Checking licenses" and then shuts down. I've tried renaming C:\Users\myUserName\AppData\Roaming\Blackmagic Design to something else and let DR start and generate a new one, but it sill crashes before I get to the main layout (goes thru the startup process of setting preferences and project paths).
So I found this thread here:
viewtopic.php?f=21&t=213063
Which is actually not correct ... the Topaz Plug-Ins are located here:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\OFX\Plugins
So I deleted the Topaz PlugIn files in the folder and DR 19.1.4 was able to start.
My real reason for posting, this seem VERY fragile software? If a plugin can prevent DR from even starting, that's kinda a serious issue I would think.
Sadly ASIO for my MOTU Gen 5 still crashes 19.1.4. With MUCH regret, I've started to shift projects back to Adobe Pr/Ae (this IS NOT my preferred choice, but I gotta get project done and don't have the time for DR issues right now). Dwaine has tried to help, but sadly no solution and I don't believe my issues went past Dwaine onto the development team?
Anyway, hope this post helps other in case you have plugins that DR can't handle/isolate.
Rob.
