Resolve 19 licensing issue

PostThu Aug 29, 2024 5:08 am

Hi,
I have a resolve license, and almost whenever I open resolve, it asks repeatedly. It was not there in 18.5. Anyone can help... I do have a dongle also. When I connect it, there is no problem. One more thing, is there any option to convert my dongle to a serial number?

Are you on Mac OS?
What version?

There is no program to exchange a dongle for an activation key.

Beside you’re on a beta OS - Isn’t the default security settings in macOS is to ask when usb devices are connected if they are allowed to connect?
Have you checked it?

It's an issue between Resolve and Sequoia.

If you are using Sequoia beta 4 or higher, a temp work around to the issue should be to go into Mac System Settings - Wi-Fi, and set the Private Wi-Fi Address mode from Rotating or Fixed, to Off.

This needs to be done for any Wi-Fi connections you may be using.

I'm having the same issue, been using my key for like 5 years now in 2 computers on which i have full control, my main one is mac and the secondary is windows, and I've never had any kind of problem, ive even shared my key with colleges and even though ive been bumped on my davinci session i can always log back in until now, it's really annoying because there seems to be no solution for this problem and whats even weirder is that i can run davinci on my pc with the same key

PLEASE i need to work and it shouldn't come to the solution being to buy another key

Key sharing with colleagues are not really what one should do - as it’s a bad thing in every way.

Anyway, are you on 19.0.1 release or beta?

Key sharing with others is a violation of the Resolve license agreement. The dual authorizations are for a single user only. :(

Honestly this just sucks. I am on Mac using latest Sequoia and upgraded to 19.1.4. To see there's been no updates on any of these forums here or on reddit or anywhere on internet is concerning. I have maxed out the amount of times i can put my activation key in. It was working the first 30 times over the last week. I though upgrading to 19 would be the solution but apparently that did nothing to offset the "allowable" attempts.

What is the solution to this? Does anyone have a fix?

If the computer have been hammering the license servers with renewals/resets you might have been locked out for a few days.
And if you change your Mac’s or routers DNS server to 1.1.1.1 or 9.9.9.9.
Any difference?

If you are getting this message, then you've exceeded the allowable amount of times to keep exceeding the license count in a short period of time:

"Maximum automatic deactivations per week exceeded"....

And the only solution is to deactivate an existing activation on another machine, or wait a week for the timeout to expire. Or buy another license. Or use the free version until the timeout expires.
