Speed Editor not recognised

I just received a new Speed Editor, and on my Win11 system it is not recognised by DaVinci Resolve.
The Control Panels Setup find the device fine, and tells me it's version 1.5.2, but the LEDs never light up and the software doesn't see it.
I don't have any other LED control software on the PC, so is there any log to show why it might not be acknowledged by DR?

OK, I found out why.
Even though I use no Logitech lighting, there was a service `logi_lamparray_service` running on my system.
Stopping this service made DR detect the hardware fine.
This really needs to be fixed in the installation process. It took several hours of experimentation and Googling to find the issue, and I finally found it in a YouTube video.
This is not a good first experience for consumers.

My speed editor is also not being recognized. It worked perfectly with the Dell 7875 Tower which had the thread ripper and a 2GB graphic card. But that computer as a whole was a terrible new build for Davinci Resolve. I now have another brand-new build with the RTX2070 that several of you recommended. The IT guy custom built it to be more like a gaming computer. I was struggling with the audio levels last night but have decided to start editing with the speed editor. I kept my C drive card and placed it in this new build. I can't connect the device. I have it connected using the USB cable supplied by BM. When I try to add the the device Speed Editor is found and listed on the screen. However, when it tries to connect, I get a red message "Try connecting your device again". Only once did not not get that message only to read "not connected", but the above line item said it was found and ready to go! But I checked. It didn't scroll. It is now added to the Bluetooth devices list, but it blinks from "not connected", "connected". The previous comments spoke of lights. This new build has lights inside. Is this the problem?

Bluetooth on the Speed Editor is disabled when it's USB connected.

With it USB connected, open the DaVinci Control Panels app. Does that app see the Speed Editor?

If not, do you have the Logitech LampArray process running? If so, that will prevent the Speed Editor from being seen.

I couldn't find the Davinci Control App. I saw a Black Magic YouTube video indicating that very thing. But I don't know how to find it. I uploaded the latest version of Studio yesterday. I type in "Davinci Control Panel" in my search bar it says "No Davinci control panels found". "Check that your DaVinci control panel is connected." Kindly I ask, how do I do that? Thank you. i added my IP address, but that didn't work either. I have nothing Logitech on my computer.

But...your screen shot shows you have the control panels app open?

When you click the + icon in the lower left corner of the control panels setup app, to add a panel, that is only for panels that use an Ethernet connection, like a Resolve Mini panel.

The Speed Editor, being a USB connected device, does not use an IP address.

If that panel app is opening and not showing the Speed Editor, and the Speed Editor is USB connected to the computer, then something is blocking the connection. And the thing that generally causes that is the Logitech LampArray process.

Please open the Windows System Information app, and select its File - Save menu. That will create a file with a .NFO extension, that contains your system info. Put that file on a file sharing site and provide a link to the file here.

Your NFO file is corrupt. Please try saving it again. This time, double click the NFO file and verify it opens in the System Information app.

You are in the proper place to generate the NFO. It's just not being generated properly.

When you have a proper NFO file, if you double click it, it will reopen the System Information app to show you what's in the file.

So save the NFO file again, then close the System Information app, then double left click the NFO file, and it will either open the System Information app, or it will say this:

If it says that, save another NFO file, until you get one that works.

Yes, I did get that message, 10 times. I repeated the directions you gave 10 times and received the same message. That led me to recall the definition of "insanity" (lol) doing something over and over again and expecting a different result. So, I went back to YOUTUBE and tried something different. It would not open using the system information app.
When I tried to use Word to read it this is the message I received:

Usually, when this happens to someone, one or 2 more save efforts fixes the issue.

Maybe try restarting Windows, and then open System Information and do a File - Save.

And yes, I can open the 2 files you sent in a text editor and see some of the info. The issue with that is, there is SO MUCH info, it's very hard to parse in a text editor. Really need to see it in the System Information app to make sense of it. Plus that fact System Information thinks it's corrupt likely means there is stuff missing from it.

Not to mention, if your Windows install really can't make a proper NFO file, it calls into question if there may not be more serious issues with Windows on the system.

I'm patiently waiting for the IT guy that built this new build to respond. His whole house has the flu, so I am not making any progress on the NFO report. I have found some possible "fixes" mentioned by Microsoft in a google search. But I am far too inexperienced in computer software to start pushing buttons. I sure do miss my speed editor. It is taking me such a long time using my mouse to edit my voiceover.....

Will this work? It is a a msinfo32.nfo file. My tech guy has still not responded so I am still not able to get assistance from him. I have saved this file to my OneDrive account. It is available to view until March 28th. I followed the instructions given in NVIDIA SUPPORT.

Nope, that one has the same issue. For some reason, your system is not creating the proper file.

And again, if you can't open the file as I described above:

This software has an LED controller that loves to poke its' nose into all other apps business. I'd uninstall this one.

The problem with Lisa's .nfo file is that the path to execute one of the services, gigabyteupdateservice.exe has an ASCII FF character at the end (line 36544). It is not normally visible but it is displayed in the OneDrive webpage displaying the file contents.

I had to change the FF character to * in order for the Forum to accept this post.

The file can be read by msinfo if the extension is changed to .txt temporarily and use Notepad to remove the blank and FF characters. When the extension is changed back to .nfo, msinfo will read the file.

@Jeff: That's a heck of a pull! And indeed that allows the file to load, but there is nothing in the Windows Error Reporting area. So probably not a complete file.

But it does allow one to search for loaded modules and services.

Jay's suggestion of Armoury Crate is valid. But there is also Corsair iCue stuff running, which also does RGB and HID stuff. Seems like an even more likely suspect. Or maybe the 2 things running at the same time is an issue.

I'd open Windows Task Manager and stop the iCue and Armoury services and see if that helps.

I have the same problem, just with Mac. Control panels setup app says no panels found. Tested 3 different usb-c cables.
Never been any problem with this the past 5 years.
It works in BT in Resolve, but nothing when cabled.

OSX 10.15 (Catalina!) has not been supported by Resolve for a long time. What version of Resolve are you using?

You opened the System Information AFTER you had the Speed Editor USB connected?

You should see something like this:

If you don't see that, either the cable is bad, or the port you're plugged into is bad, or the USB port on the Speed Editor is bad. But that seems unlikely, if it's working over BT. But I suppose not impossible.

And you tried multiple USB ports on the Mac Pro?

Do you have another computer you could test it on?
