Preferences Start Timecode Does not Change Project STC

PostThu May 01, 2025 2:50 am

Good evening,

While working on new projects, I noticed that the project "start timecode" (01:00:00:00) no longer reflects the value I set in the "Preferences" > "Start Timecode" (00:00:00:00), like it did in version 19.x and prior versions.

I rebooted my system and tried changing the preferences > start timecode value to various values, but it doesn't seem to modify the project's start timecode (for old or new projects). I then closed DR and restarted it. No change.

Would you please fix this? Thank you!

Sincerely,

Roger

I find it working here as it always has.

You know it only applies to newly created timelines, yes?

Good morning, Jim,

Yes, I know. I tried it on new timelines and on old ones that were previously set to 00:00:00:00, but the problem persisted. Even soft and hard reboots didn't resolve the issue.

My laptop did several Windows updates last night, and now that problem appears to be resolved. I'm unsure why. (?!) I'm just thankful it is resolved.

Thank you!

I have seen things go weird for many programs when Windows is half way though updates. Letting those finish by restarting is always a good first step for solution.

Good evening, Jim,

I've seen that happen, too, but this problem has existed since v20 beta 1. I force Windows update checks whenever I wake up or turn on my computer, and I've shut down and rebooted a few times since this problem first manifested. It's odd. Ah well. It's resolved now, so I'm happy. :)

Thank you! Take care!
