Just got a brand new Blackmagic Video Assist 7" 12G will run on power but will not run with NPF Batteries or V mount, this was a brand new unit still sealed in plastic when I received it. Help please any suggestions $1200 for a unit that does not work on batteries.

Are you mounting the NP-F batteries on the back of the Video Assist? What batteries exactly do you have? Did your NP-F charger indicate the batteries were fully charged? Apologies if you’ve done everything correct, but I’ve never had an issue like you describe while I use the 970 batteries.

Certainly contact your retailer as this is a new unit.

Try inputting the AC power adapter into its usual place. Don’t plug the other end into a source. Insert the battery onto its mount and turn it on. Unplug the AC power barrel.
