Failed to Reinstall DaVinci Resolve after Updating to Beta 3

PostSun May 11, 2025 3:56 pm

I'm having a serious issue with DaVinci Resolve after updating to the newest Beta. After installing the beta, Resolve stopped launching entirely. I decided to fully remove it from my system - including clearing out all related files and registry entries - to attempt a clean reinstall.

However, now I can't install any version of DaVinci Resolve at all — not the latest beta, not previous betas, and not even the latest stable version. The installer crashes during the process:

Failed to install DaVinci Control Panels. Continue with others components?

After clicking Yes:
Failed to install Blackmagic RAW Player. Continue with others components?

After clicking Yes installer doesn't start to install DaVinci Resolve 20.0.0b.0038.

Has anyone else encountered this? Is there a way to fully reset the system so Resolve can be installed again? I'm stuck and would really appreciate any help or guidance.

Some useful information which can help to diagnose:

Some ideas to check:

1. You're using an Admin level User Account?
2. No third-party security is installed?
3. You're installing to the default location on C:?
4. Documents hasn't moved from its default location on C:?
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.
