Exporting ProRes VFX Plates from Arri Raw Anamorphic Footage

PostTue May 13, 2025 9:31 am

Hi Guys

We shot our footage with an Arri Alexa 35 and Cooke Anamorphics in Arri RAW. 1.8

I now need to export some of this footage into QuickTime ProRes for the VFX team to add their elements to.

However, DaVinci Studio 19 keeps centring the footage with black bars on all sides. Changed a number of settings and keep getting the same export.

Pixel Aspect Ratio: 1.8
Footage and Timeline: 4448 x 3096

Final export when all work is done will be 4096 x 1716

James

Try this:

1. Add the clips to a timeline with matching specs.
2. Use Individual clips mode on the Deliver page.
3. Check the Render at source resolution box.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.
