Bug: Alpha artefacts if retiming QT clips with straight alph

PostSun May 18, 2025 7:33 pm

In Resolve Studio 20 beta 3, when I import a QuickTime (Animation or ProRes 4444) from After Effects with straight alpha, I get edge artefacts when applying retime (even at 101%). This only happens if Retime Process is set to Optical Flow or Frame Blend.

Switching to Nearest fixes it.

If I use a PNG sequence with the same content and alpha, I can retime it with Optical Flow and there are no artefacts.

Seems like Resolve mishandles straight alpha + interpolation on QuickTime sources.

Would love to see this fixed!
