Beta 4, Garbled Audio

PostThu May 22, 2025 11:37 pm

Just installed beta 4. Right from the get go, it's no go on the audio. Garbled audio. Both with System audio and with ASIO driver. Tried both.

System Logs attached.

I rolled back to beta 3, however, I was unable to without uninstalling the program first. Now I lost all my preferences. How do I get them back?

Also, the audio is still garbled. Beta 4 broke something that didn't get corrected by uninstalling and reinstalling the older version.

Installing that beta 4 really messed up my system.
Reinstalling beta 3, audio is still garbled and this is probably why... it can't play at normal framerate anymore. Even if the playback is set to 1/4 resolution which it is here.
CPU and GPU are doing hardly anything. Memory and Preferences set to Auto and CUDA, with Neural Engine enabled.

Now I'm stuck, because I can't go back to a functional system by just rolling back. I'll have to wipe the system drive and reinstall everything.

There was a second Beta 4 (Build 48) that fixed some audio issues on Windows.

The version I downloaded on 5/22/2-25 at 12:40PM was close to the time they released a bug fix. I think I got it after that bug fix.

It seems the problem is that DR cannot handle the 29.97 1440x1440 footage after that update. The frame rate is dropping below that and that's when the audio garbles.

Can you share a clip, Mark?

The raw clip or the project with clip? Should I export the project to an archive so you have the exact settings?
