Currently, the FX Warper in DaVinci Resolve allows users to reposition mesh warp points to distort an image. These deformations are useful, but limited to direct mesh manipulation — meaning each point only shifts pixel position based on the grid, without any radius of influence or localized distortion like bloat or pinch.
I’d love to see the FX Warper enhanced with two additional ring controls on each warp point:
• Size Ring – to define the area of influence around the point
• Bloat Ring – to adjust the intensity and direction of distortion (positive for bloat, negative for pinch)
This would make it possible to achieve subtle reshaping and organic distortions right inside the FX Warper, particularly useful for tasks like facial refinement, body shaping, or stylized VFX.
It would eliminate the need for external plugins or redundant OFX stacking, while unlocking new creative flexibility within the Resolve ecosystem.
This evolution would bring the FX Warper closer to industry standards seen in high-end retouching tools and could be a game-changer for both beauty and creative workflows.
