I would like to monitor video using the Ultra Studio Recorder 3G, what BM/3rd party software is available with scopes?

Omniscope and Scopebox are highly recommended 3rd-party software scopes:

I'm partial to Omniscope, but be aware you'll need to buy a capture device like a Blackmagic UltraStudio or Decklink interface in order to feed the signal into the computer.

A recent alternative is CineMon (Mac or iPad only).
My disaster protection: export a .drp file to a physically separated storage regularly.
