Goodbye Apple Intel :(

PostWed Jun 11, 2025 6:19 am

After the Apple WWDC which introduced their latest MacOS, almost all Intel based Macs are no longer supported. There are a few 2019 and 2020 models with the Intel chip but darn, they did not include the 2017 iMac Pro, which with its Xeon processor and AMD Vega GPUs, are still very relevant and beefy. I would continue to stay with it using Sequoia for as long as it’s churning and delivering videos out of Resolve running on it. How I had hope that Apple would support the 2017 iMac Pro for one or two more versions before calling Intel dead for MacOS.

I read that there will still be security updates for another three years even when you can no longer upgrade to the next OS version.

If that’s true then great news. I really can just stay in Sequoia then.
