Dvd burning software

PostWed Jun 18, 2025 12:46 pm

I am currently using Encore to burn media for projects. While using that program through the years I have been able to create a large variety of content. However, since using Davinchi I have been having some problems with getting usable files to import into Encore. I am now faced with the prospect of getting a new dvd burning software that can create completely coustamisable menus using mpeg files from Davinchi. Are there any suggestions out there for dvd burning programs out there That are still available. Thanks for any suggestions.

I used to use DVDLab before switching to DVDArchitect that also did Bluray not available now. DVDLAb is just DVD. I always use TMPGenc MW7 to encode as I found that encode is fully compliant.

They also do an authoring program too.

What sort of problems, exactly? Converting media files from one format to another is annoying, but usually easy to do. I run an ffmpeg script to convert camera output into mpg files for a dvd authoring program. Basically,
Code: Select all
ffmpeg -i input_file -target ntsc-dvd  output_file.mpg

I am taking 2 mp4 files and making them one file to burn to a DVD with chapters. I have been using Adobe for years and understand it's work flow. 2 years ago program got to the point that it needed to be reinstalled. Unknown to me at the time windows program was corrupted and adobe couldn't be reinstalled. Person I took it to installed an older version of windows. In ine meantime I found divinchi and another dvd program without any ability to change menu options as a quick fix. I am hoping to get back to menu options I had before. Every time I attempt to create an mpeg4 file to adobe from divinchi it tells me it is a corrupted file and can't import. Importing mp4 into Encore is a much faster burn time.

You might want to try Shutter Encoder. I have been using it for years for various encoding and in its documentation it say it can convert video files to DVD with authoring. I have never tried this but here’s the info.

Shutter Encoder is free but it’s nice if people donate a little to help fund this project. :)

Here’s the download link: https://www.shutterencoder.com/
