Import media oversaturated.

PostFri Jun 20, 2025 4:48 am

Hello,

I've been using Resolve for a few years, just got a new laptop, and now when I import media (JPG or MP4) it is massively oversaturated as if it has a LUT automatically applied. I've spent hours checking that it hasn't got anything unusual selected but I can't figure it out. I was using the JPG to color grade against but even that has come up looking terrible! I was hoping that it was just a setting that has come up that I can deselect, but I can't find one.

Any tips?

Can you share an Archive so we can take a look?
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

What are your color management settings? What specific laptop are you using? Which OS?

If you're a beginner, just use the default DaVinci YRGB settings and do it all in Rec709, and the JPG or MP4 should "in general" come in OK. There's a chance it may be in Video rather than Full Data Levels (or vice-versa), but I'd have to look at it to know for sure.

Note that your monitor and signal path will affect the image as well.
