Hey guy,
I have a video clip placed in my timeline, but the footage is smaller than the timeline resolution, so I can see the checkerboard background (which I set up as my viewer background) around it.
To fix this, I want to manually transform the footage and scale it up to fit the timeline exactly, edge to edge. using the "Transform" overlay tool. This tool can be activated by clicking the Transform button in the lower left corner of the viewer.
Now my issue is this: when I drag the corners or edges to resize the clip, the image doesn't snap to the edges of the timeline frame. I'm used to other software where, during a transform operation, the clip or layer will snap to the canvas or frame boundaries automatically when it's close enough. That snapping behavior makes it much easier to match the size perfectly.
So, Is there a way to enable snapping to the timeline edges or viewer frame when transforming footage manually in DaVinci Resolve?
Btw,
here a video that shows exactly what I’m trying to do. You’ll see that as I scale the footage, it never snaps to the timeline boundaries. Any Ideas if that is possible in Resolve?
