ATEM Exporter - Camera changes to FCPXML for Resolve & FCP

PostThu May 29, 2025 10:28 pm

Hi Team!

Introducing... ATEM Exporter!

ATEM Exporter is a native Swift + Swift UI Mac Application that listens to a Blackmagic ATEM switcher (such as a ATEM Constellation 8K), and logs all the camera changes.

You can export the camera changes as a Final Cut Pro FCPXML, to use in Final Cut Pro or Blackmagic DaVinci Resolve.

You can export a PROGRAM CUT, which allows you to use your program feed from an external recorder (such as a Blackmagic HyperDeck), and add cut points each time there's a camera change.

You can also export a MULTICAM, which allows you to use your program feed as well as any ISO (i.e. independent camera) recordings, and export a Multicam clip for Final Cut Pro or DaVinci Resolve.

It's simple, but very powerful.

ATEM Exporter was built in a few hours during a live music event, and has only been physically tested in a real-world live production using an ATEM Constellation 8K and Blackmagic HyperDeck's and AJA recorders for ISOs. If you use a different variety of ATEM, it may or may not work currently - so very much open to feedback!

We're currently just using a placeholder icon (from my yet-to-be-finished Timecode Toolbox) whilst a new one is being designed - stay tuned!

You can purchase on the Mac App Store and learn more here:

Any questions let me know!

For anyone following along, ATEM Exporter v1.0.3 (Build 5) is out now. It's now a one-time payment of USD$79.99 on the Mac App Store.

You can watch a tutorial video here:

Thank you, Chris. Good job.
I have one question. Is it possible to save the cut list and reopen it later for export? Because I only record cuts on the event, but my ISOs are on the SD cards in camera. I want to do all the magic later in the studio. Is it possible?
And maybe two notes:
1. The clear button seems to be very dangerous without any popup confirmation button (do you want really clear???)
2. Maybe some trial version should be fine for testing.
I look forward to further developments.

Apologies for delayed reply - I totally missed the notification.

Adding ability to save and restore the ATEM Exporter is a great idea. I've added a feature request here:

https://github.com/latenitefilms/ATEMExporter/issues/10

Adding confirmation for the clear button is also a great idea. I've added a feature request here:

Free trials are complicated on the Mac App Store. However, I have been sending TestFlight links to people to test out early builds before pushing updates out publicly - so if anyone needs to test ATEM Exporter, just reach out and I can add you to next TestFlight build.
