No focus plane marking on the BMPCC 4k

PostFri Jul 04, 2025 10:22 pm

So, with DJI's Focus Pro systems, the LiDAR range finder, one step in its setup requires us to measure the distance from the focus plane of a camera to the range finder. This is not possible when using the BMPCC 4k and 6k because these cameras lack a focus plane marking. One response on the web suggested to measure 19.25mm from the flange. Alright but then another response said "You can’t really just base it off the flange distance. The optical elements in there will change this and have to be compensated for. "

So, where exactly is it? And where do you measure it FROM? I really need to use this Lidar and this will result in faulty setup if I don't get this right.

I not remember correctly for p4k, but for 6k the sensor plane is marked by the ⦵ symbol on the top of the camera near one of the airflow vents/intakes.
G1, g2, pro, cc6k move symbol around this area.
