I got the following instruction from Black Magic Support. I tried with different cameras and computers. Still I am not able to see the video live in the Davinci Resoleve. Is Intensity Extreme is meant for live grade. I also noted that Final Cut pro X or FaceTime doesn't recognize the camera. -------- - Open a brand new project. - Navigate to DaVinci Resolve > Preferences > Video I/O & GPU and select your Blackmagic hardware under Resolve Live. Choose "None" under Capture & Playback unless you have bi-directional 4K hardware. - Save your Preferences and relaunch Resolve. - Open a brand new project. - Click the gear icon in the lower left to open Project Settings. - In Master Project Settings change the Timeline Frame Rate to match your source. In the case of a 1080i59.94 source, choose 29.97. - In Master Project Settings change the Video Monitoring > Video Format to match your source. - Apply changes and cancel to close Project Settings - Navigate to the Edit page and choose File > New Timeline to create an Empty Timeline - Navigate to the Color page and choose Color > Resolve Live On/Off to turn Resolve Live on. You should now see your camera signal on screen.
Let me know if this works for you. Also, try testing with a different camera.

I got the following instruction from Black Magic Support. I tried with different cameras and computers. Still I am not able to see the video live in the Davinci Resoleve. Is Intensity Extreme meant for live grade? I also noted that Final Cut pro X or FaceTime doesn't recognize the camera though I can view the video on Media Express. Is there anyone in this forum using Intensity Extreme for live grading in resolve. If so, please guide me. -------- Instruction given to me by Black Magic support ---------------------- - Open a brand new project. - Navigate to DaVinci Resolve > Preferences > Video I/O & GPU and select your Blackmagic hardware under Resolve Live. As mentioned in the other thread you posted in, Resolve does not support HDMI inputs for Capture or Live Grade use. It only accepts HD-SDI inputs for those functions.
Since the Intensity Extreme only has an HDMI input, it will not work for Resolve Capture or Live Grade use.
What if I buy UltraStudio Pro for USB 3.0? Is it possible to use UltraStudio Pro for USB 3.0 for live grade in Davinci Resolve?. My camera out is HDMI (1080i 59.94/ Canon 7D). My computer is MacBook pro retina display with USB 3.
That should work as a Live Grade input device for Resolve. But it will not work as a simultaneous Live Grade corrected output device.
But again, only the HD-SDI input of the UltraStudio Pro will work. The HDMI input will not work for Live Grade. If your camera only has HDMI out, that is not going to work for Live Grade use, unless you convert it to HD-SDI somehow.
Having problems testing out Resolve Live via 2 HDMI devices converted to SDI via a BM HDMI-SDI converted.
Pipeline is this: Sony A7s2 - HDMI/SDI converter - BM Ultrastudio 4K - MBP 2018 via BM Desktop Video. Blackmagic Desktop video sees the SDI input, and I the SDI is confirmed when put into a reference monitor to be 1080i59.9.
Is this an HDMI problem that BM doesnt support for Resolve Live? Even when converted to SDI input?
