This is actually a good reason to not give you a bmcc ;-)

Imagine the horror of the pre order people if you got your camera a month ago, filmed this show and damaged your bmcc instead!

I refuse to add insult to injury but can't help but wonder what those lasers are doing to folks' eyes.

Wow...I've shot a lot of concerts and lights shows (with lasers) and that's never happened to my 1D...mind you, I was shooting stills, not video.

I'm surprised that such low power lasers could have that dramatic an effect on the sensor :(

sh*tty!!

I love the shark thing. I'm stealing it.

Anyway, I've used my T2i in the ocean, done absolutely HORRIBLE things to it to "get the shot" and it's just, sitting here in it's case next to me, swaddled in foam liners and waiting for the next gig this coming weekend. Of course, when I'm done dropping it in mud and ramming it into walls mattebox first I always give it a good cleaning, check the batteries for leaks, etc and generally take good care of it. I've never had a laser beam or sunlight or anything like that destroy the sensor so totally, but that's why the T2i is kinda my Arriflex...or GoPro...whatever...stunt cam...you know what I mean. It's not the 5D, in other words. But it's also been my A-cam on a lot of micro budget shows and it holds up pretty well.

I wonder what lens you were using, Pierre.

Put '5D', 'sensor' and 'laser' into Youtube for some truly horrific content. It's scarier than any horror film! :(

I agree. So, you're saying I shouldn't try to shoot THIS with a digital camera? :D

I was using a Samyang / Rokinon 35mm T1.5.

My T2I was very robust like yours i have made a lot of video with it :)

cos the sensor is full time exposed when u shot video.

Anyway, and getting serious avoiding sharks, i think that the laser must be with more angle cos that laser points to the eye level in the middle of the crowd....
