Problem with .mov files and Fusion

PostThu Nov 27, 2014 1:27 am

I rendered a .mts clip to a quicktime DNxHD .mov file for Fusion. The clip plays perfectly in Sony Vegas or VLC, but when loaded in Fusion it has crazy pixelated colors at various location on the image. Unfortunately I can't post url's to demonstrate and I'm unable to upload as an attachment. Anyone ever experienced this problem before?

Never mind. I found you have to dial down the brightness below 100 before converting the file to a DNxHD .mov file. That's not so practical. So I switched to CineForm which works without a problem for Vegas, Fusion and Mocha Pro.

Not sure if this is helpful, but there is a seemingly related thread on WSL:

Thanks, I'll give rewrapping a try.

No luck. Tried to re-wrap with both Avidemux and X media Recode. Also tried to download memcoder, but it was so full of crapware it sent malwarebytes into a hissy fit. Guess I'll stick to CineForm.

Finally got it to work, but had to rewrap as a .mov file. Used memvoder and set both audio and video to copy and container as .mov. I tried everything possible to wrap as an avi, but Fusion just didn't like it.

I assume you are on win. I am using it on mac osX 10.10.5 beta2 and it does not load DNxHD movs which I hope it will be in future as it would help to a lot of avid users.

Yes, I'm using Windows 10. My problem with dnxhd turned out to be levels. When setting up my dnxhd render in Vegas I had to go to custom setting and then configure and select RGB rather than 709.
