i spoke with someone at B&H via online chat and they told me that Grant has told him they are confident that they will be able to fulfill all orders by the end of the year.

Not sure how true it is though.

Not the first time we've heard that from B&H I believe, but let's be honest. How is BMD going to pull that off? We have 18 days left in this year. Not saying I don't want it to be true though, it would make my new year

Either way, only 2 more days until THE update. What time exactly are we supposed to be expecting it on "Friday US time"?

I'm surprised no one has started the "over/under" pool for Friday's "update."

If anyone is like me (ahem...broke filmmaker), I'm betting with matches.

Put me in for twenty that it's late by at least 5 days.

I agree. BMD knows they have screwed the pooch enough times...they can't do it again. They have to deliver something Friday ON TIME or it will be chaos!
I can't imagine they have good news though.

Hmmmmm... "by the end of the year." Did they specify the year 2012? or 13?

I just hope its not another update on the updates.

They'd make a lot of people happy if they can get it out by December 31st 2012 (especially me)

It would be incredulous if they got me mine by December 21st. I could use it for a few hours then perish in the great flood or asteroid impact or zombie apocalypse.

Wait, scratch the third. I'm so prepared for the zombie apocalypse.

For the over and under, I think the Friday update will be here on Monday and say the same ole thing... We are waiting on tests, our supplier screwed us over, we want to ship them as bad as you do and of course, we will give you an update later this week (which will never come).

I'm the biggest BMD skeptic of them all, but let's wait until the update... you're probably 100% correct, but we still need to give them the benefit of the doubt. However, this time they cannot be late with the update... they just can't! Even the biggest BMD nutttt... I mean apologist will turn against them if that is the case!

Will it be the right "Black-MAGIC-friday" : 2012 december 14...???

_New firmware with:
60fps?
Real display info (f:Diaph; good batt info...)?
Communication with all the canon lens?

And 3000 camera ready-to-ship for all around the world :-)

Do you believe in Santa Clause too...?

If My calculations are correct, we are about 3 hours away from the potential update window opening....

I will be so happy if it is good news (good news being that I will get my camera within the next 4 weeks)

The updates from Grant, such as the last one, occur early Friday morning from around 8am. In less than an hour, it will be 8am in Melbourne. I know Christine said US time, but she also said "by". I would surmise that if Grant is unable to issue his proper update today, Christine will issue an update before her friday is out. Hence, I would guess that the window of when the update would occur would be 8am Melbourne time to as late as 6pm friday US time.

Melbourne is 16 hours ahead of the Eastern Time Zone (where Christine lives). So when it's 8 am Saturday, it's 4 pm Friday in the eastern US. No idea when she stops work, but you could be waking up to an update tomorrow morning.
