Cinema Camera availability

PostSat Dec 22, 2012 7:03 pm

Hi.

I'll be traveling to the U.S. in March and want to buy a Blackmagic Cinema Camera EF Mount, but I wonder if the camera will arrive in time for my trip (before April 3).

I'm able to order the camera today, but need to know for sure.

Any information will be appreciated :)

This forum is littered with the corpses of those who thought they'd receive the camera in a specified time.

I would not bank on it.

EDIT: There are several thousand people who have ordered the camera and the last update from the company suggests they SHOULD have everyone covered in the next couple of months, but the only thing current buyers know for sure is that they can't be sure.

Good luck! :D

You're right.
I read about people getting their cameras and that gave me hope. But they are only a few :(

I'm somewhat encouraged to put my money down in the first week if January. Hopefully BMD will have another update. Of course what is said is truth on this thread, that several thousand BMCC are on order. Personally that sound like months of backlog...unless BMD has hired on...and they're going 24/7...which would be smart...since this company must have a whack of money invested in both cameras.

I'm almost wondering if it's worth taking a vacation to Australia and show up hat in hand...begging for a production model MTF. :)

I was counting on this camera to start shooting at the end of January.

I have contacted three BMD representatives...in the last two weeks...they all replied and I must admit they were as honest and prompt as one could expect. They don't know how this will all play out...but they are on it and doing the best they can.

B&H says: "This item is backordered by the manufacturer. Order now and we'll deliver when available. Your account will only be charged when we ship the item"

I can take that risk.

Maybe we should wait to first of 2013 , that can't start shipping MTF mount befor EF , and both of them using same sensor , Thay Sid 30th of dec Thay will start shipping the MTF , A little patience !!

For me i will keep my mony Warmth my pocket , it's risky to order it and gets charged for nothing .
