Yeah, what happened to the beta? I spoke with Blackmagic months ago and they told me there would be a new Fusion (private) beta at some point & previous testers would be notified.

I'm not saying I was a previous beta tester in case that were to break any NDA's (ehem), I'm just curious to know what happened.

any update plan on windows in the future ?
are they going to release a MAC version ?

how about contacting Krokodove developers directly about their support for Fusion 8? It's probably the quickest way to get the answer.

Fusion 8 isn't even in beta. The SDK isn't either.

exactly.

Expect that the SDK will change because of the removal of some dependencies (and the inclusion of new ones). So plugin devs and customers will need to be mindful that these will need to be recompiled at least. Let's hope the SDK is not far off.

I still don't understand, why nobody can share the faulty beta from a few days ago? I have sent a few PMs to those, who's got it, but people don't reply. I know it has a terrible bug, I'm not gonna use it in any serious work, I just want to play around with it, study the interface. And not only me, it seems. Could anyone help me, or is it against some BM's agreements?

Assume that the download required a EULA that prevents them from distributing it.

Wasn't the original link tweeted by BMD?

The twitter link was for the product page, not the distributive itself. You would still have to fill your information, and I guess, Chad was right — it might be against EULA to share...
Still want it thou.

Altough, no. You don't accept any EULA on the site. During the installation... I scrolled the lic agreement in DaVinci, and I'm not sure it stated what you cannot share it (non-commertially).

It is frustrating for sure, particularly after sitting in on a brilliant demo of it on OS X at Siggraph which made me want to start using it even more.

Whatever issue they found must have been pretty major. Originally I figured that someone screwed up on the compiling of the code and it was just a matter of re-compiling it and posting a new link, however it must have been more serious than that since it's been a week now and it's still a no show.

Next week Blackmagic has an event here in L.A. so I'm hoping that they will release it by then.

I am really big fan of flat look as well. We are not in late 2000's with web 2.0 bubbles and gradients all over the place anymore :)

One thing is a flat design, it has great examples, and DaVinci 12ß trying well (still need some polishing imho), but what I see on the screenshot is a template, filler. I'm sure they were completely rewriting UI system underneath for cross-platform purposes and design stage didn't start yet.
I'm I'm wrong... Jesus, this is a pure s..t then. :) Sorry.

Funny, I used to be so, so into messing with pre-release software and though I still get those urges sometimes, I must admit I'm getting more and more satisfied with what I have and wait until the software is at least stable according to beta testers, etc... For Fusion, when I heard about the beta and then realized they took it down, I wanted it so bad - but a couple of days later now, I'm thinking, I'll mess with it when I hear people here say it's stable enough.

So I'm basically getting old and grumpy. :D

For those who missed it, Fusion 8 b1 is now available for download on BMD main Fusion page. :)
