MacOS keyboard controls

What are the keys to step frame-by-frame on a German keyboard on MacOS? The two keys next to backspace won't work (they do work on Windows if I use bootcamp).

It would be nice to have the step controls on the arrow keys and not the [ ] keys. Being on a non-US keyboard I have to switch keyboard layout between applications. Arrow keys are universal on keyboards.
