It's really just the simplest form for comp. just add an emitter and a render.

It will crash, if animate in region the translation parameters is chosen while there is a viewer connected to the tool.

It the tools is not in a viewer then all is okay, but if it is visible in a view then it will crash.

This also apply if I choose animate before viewing and the turn on view for this tool and start moving the emitter.

Code: Select all
{
   Tools = ordered() {
      pEmitter1 = pEmitter {
         ID = 1,
         Inputs = {
            ["ParticleStyle.ColorOverLife"] = Input {
               Value = Gradient {
                  Colors = {
                     [0] = { 1, 1, 1, 1, },
                  },
               },
            },
            ["ParticleStyle.SizeOverLife"] = Input {
               SourceOp = "pEmitter1SizeoverLife",
               Source = "Value",
            },
            ["ParticleStyle.BlurOverLife"] = Input {
               SourceOp = "pEmitter1BluroverLife2D",
               Source = "Value",
            },
         },
         ViewInfo = OperatorInfo { Pos = { 440, 49.5, }, },
      },
      pEmitter1SizeoverLife = LUTBezier {
         KeyColorSplines = {
            [0] = {
               [0] = { 0.5, RH = { 0.3, 0.5, }, Flags = { Linear = true, }, },
               [1] = { 0.5, LH = { 0.7, 0.5, }, Flags = { Linear = true, }, },
            },
         },
         SplineColor = { Red = 0, Green = 0, Blue = 0, },

This does not crash for me, neither on the Mac or PC

Try renaming your pref file so fusion generates a new one, sometimes that's all it takes. Otherwise no issues for me here.

This also happens on PC - Win7 64bit.

Create the same comp in version 7.7 and load into 8 it will be OK until you click on position marker.
The fusion disappears.

hmm... Not sure at all, but not fun for you either..

Have you tried right clicking on the pEmitter and change settings to default? perhaps... who knows..

Can you try this with different particle types?
Bitmap, blobs, etc..

Set it to default doe not change it... I can move it etc... but as soon as I choose animate translation group or just animate translation X. it will crash.

If I change style, still the same..
