Fusion Path Maps

Hello,

I am new to Fusion.

I am running it on a Mac OS X 10.11

I basically wanted to ask about Path Maps.

In one question, how can I change them (the ones in Global Settings)?

The ones I really want to change are:

All Docs:
and
Temp:

I don't want the All Docs: to have files reside in the default My Documents
and for the temp: I'd rather have temp files reside on my external SSD

I contacted support, they told me to post here, any ideas or tips welcome? The User manual says nothing about this?

I don't have the Mac version, but hopefully this is very similar to the Win version.

Select the folder you want to change in the "from" column, it should highlight a tab below to select a new folder location.

But the "temp" and "allDocs" are read from the OS path variables, at least in Windows

Every path from the first one staring at the top "AllData:" down to "UserDocs:" when they're selected the little folder at the bottom to select a new path is greyed out.

Everything below that from "AutoSaves:" to "UserPaths:" the little folder at the bottom of the window is selectable and you can set a new path.

So I'm guessing the first un-modifiable ones are general default paths that the rest point to.

Since I want to change "UserDocs:" and "Temp:" and both are unmodifiable, What I'll do is the following:

Select all subsequent modifiable paths that start with "UserDocs:" or "Temp:" and set them to my desired path.

Though this will not change the actual "UserDocs:" and "Temp:" path, it will surely not use them since the bottom ones that are modifiable are the paths that will actually be used specifically by Fusion.

Then I will finalize by opening terminal and typing chflags hidden ~/Documents/Blackmagic\ Design

This will completely hide the default folder that Fusion forces to create.

I don't get why it's so complicated and I think Blackmagic needs to simplify and makes this section more user-friendly and to the point.

My question at this point is do you think changing those paths and using terminal to hide the default folder in my Documents will be fine in terms of performance?
