Feature Request: Control Area Tooltips

It would be great to have working tooltips in the Control Area for each item, similar to the tooltips available in Nuke.

Yes, most values are intuitive and self-explanatory, but I think this is a great way to show tricks and optimizations. Plus, as a user you won't have to do the RTFM trips each time you're wondering about inputs and values.

One thing that would help right away is context sensitive help. There's a helpmap for every tool that can point it to a specific help page online on locally. That's been disabled in recent versions of Fusion, if you try to use it, you get an error, but it would make training much easier and reduce support loads.

There is, however, a tooltip function already. INPS_StatusText will display a string in the status bar when you hover over a control. I'm not sure which tools support it, but they all COULD support it easily. Just need to have someone write the tooltips and pop them into the AddInputsTagList. I guess I'll start doing that for my own plugins, too.

That would be great too if used more often, but I think the tooltip solution is better.

You can really squeeze a lot of information in a tooltip, while a single status line might be restricted to just a few characters. Think about a dropdown - when you've got multiple options, you can detail each option in a structured manner.

Like I said, BDP removed ALL context sensitive help from Fusion. It's not that they didn't add it, they decided to remove it.
