Saving stills

PostTue Aug 23, 2016 7:47 am

what are the options to save stills ?
i now right click on the viewer and use ''save image''. but here i dont get settings. the other way is to add a saver tool at the end and render. but if i for example use a name ''TestImage'' after i render one frame it changes the name of the file to TestImage0 or TestImage1. i would like to use the saver tool but so that it doesnt add a number at the end.

That's probably because hardly anybody ever needs to do this in Fusion.
It's a compositor, not a Photoshop alternative (although it can be used as one)

So right-clicking the viewer and 'save image as' is the most widely used method for this.
Or just deal with the added number. You could maybe even write a post-renderscript to change the filename to remove the sequence number, but that seems like overkill.

i thought that a lot of artists who render still images use fusion for compositing?

it would be strange if you couldnt save without added numbers

The issue is that the added numbers aren't seen as a detriment. I've never had a case where Photoshop refused to open an image because it had some numbers on the end of the filename.

Yes, you can remove the numbers with a post-render script if it is detrimental to your workflow.
