Fusion Studio Crashing on Loader

PostTue Sep 06, 2016 6:35 pm

Hi Everyone,

I'm a longtime Fusion user since the Maya Fusion days and I'm having a issue with crashing on a new computer. It's a Dell Precision 7710 mobile workstation, Windows 7, Intel Xeon, 64GB ram, Quadro M4000m.
I'm running Fusion Studio 8.1 and it crashes as soon as I add a loader, saver or any of the 3D tools to the flow. No problems on my old I7 moblie workstation or deskside. Tried running in compatibility mode and disabling the antivirus but without success.

Thanks

After speaking with tech support I've been directed back to the forum.
Windows 7 does not meet minimum system requirements and is no longer supported by Fusion 8 and above. I have been running v8 since its release on my other Windows 7 systems with no stability issues.
Upgrading to Windows 10 is not an option. Not happy with performance of Maya, V-Ray and Arnold under that OS.

Also my Fusion hardware dongle shows up to Support as a Decklink card serial number. Keep your receipts if you purchased Fusion Studio.

What I've learned doing my own trouble shooting with this new system:
Fusion 7.7.1 build 0 is stable.
Fusion 8.0 will allow a loader node to be added to the flow via menu bar or hotbox if Auto Browse is off in the preferences but freezes the program when trying to browse to a source file.
I can drag and drop a source file, a .tga in this case from Windows Explorer without a crash.

Thanks,
