How to use z-depth data in Fusion

PostSun Oct 09, 2016 2:16 pm

Hi,

when I have an animation rendered from Maya containing two exr-image-sequences.
1st sequence: the rendered images with beauty-pass and No DOF.
2nd sequence: b/w images representing the z-depth

How can I use the z-depth data to create DOF in fusion ?

Thanks for your help.

Hi Peter,

you can use Depth Blur.

Don't forget to set your loaders to float (if the're not already) in order to have all the range of depth.

Depth Blur is also great to use as a "Compound Blur" which behaves different form the regular blur with a selection or mask applied.
