Dongle for MacBook Pro

I was wondering if there was any thought as to the old usb dongle with the new macbook pros? Actually, not just wondering, but I am really hoping there's a solution to this here.

You should be able to use a USB 3.1 C to USB 2 or 3 A Female adaptor, something like this.

All these adapters...would love no dongle. For one who travels, it's kind of a pain.
