Maya IFF file import

Hi,
It seems that Maya IFF image files can no longer be imported in fusion? Using version 8.2.
In old versions like 6.4 that was never a problem. Although IFF is an outdated image file format nowadays, it was still THE basic file format when rendering in Maya just a few years ago. So there are tons of legacy projects and scenes out there which rely on already rendered iff sequences. Having to convert them all before being able to access old projects would be really painful, so an update of the Maya iff import module is highly apprecciated. Thank you very much!
