Fusion - Custom installation location

PostTue Dec 13, 2016 9:38 am

Hi guys,
downloaded recently Fusion and I wanted to install it. Started the setup file and everything was installed ... without the question where I want to install the program? I dont want to have the program on my C:/ drive. Otherwise, the application has no use for me :/

Thanks for your help!

this is a known limitation and often critizied already here. in former version there was an "advanced" button in the setup to choose a custom path. but BMD decided to remove this option

afaik you can move the installed folder afterwards to whatever location you like

Ahh okay, thanks for that!
I already searched for a solution and got the exact same answer ... but few years old. I thought, it is no possible with some kind of ~hack.

Anyway, by moving the folder to another location is a manageable solution. Is there something else to mention? Internal path structures to C:/~ Documents or something like that?

Thanks for your help.

Depending on what you want to achieve you could also think about creating sym/hardlinks or working with environment path variable.
