I just added the Switronix power base kit to my BH order. I also used LiveChat to talk to a customer service rep.

Has anyone received a camera from B&H that preordered after May 22. the deliveries seem to have stopped.

Last i saw on thr other board was june 8th. He posted it around a week ago.

Someone in another thread mentioned he heard a rumor that bh holds their units till they have enough to ship at once to get a bulk shipping discount. No idea if its true but it seems like it could be possible how much they were moving quickly then all of the sudden dropping off.

This doesn't make any sense. I'm not sure if you mean that B&H pays the distributor from which it gets its cameras for shipping and therefore instructs them to hold until they receive a bulk order; or if you mean that B&H holds end-customers cameras to ship in bulk. If the latter, then this is almost surely not the case, as B&H ships items (every minute of) every day (except Saturday!) to customers. The former also sounds unlikely, as these shipping costs are likely to be negligible compared to the value they get from shipping them to customers.

More likely is that these are being sent my BMD in bulk to their distributors once per week (perhaps without even sending to each geographic distributor every week), then the distributor distributes them to the retailers. Indeed, Grant Petty has consistently discussed shipments in terms of output per week. This would reduce BMD's shipping costs and seems far more likely than BMD shipping cameras one-by-one or even day-by-day to the same distributor. Thus, there is a lumpiness to the distribution of cameras. The lumpiness is far more likely at the source (BMD) than at the retailer.

Perhaps the initial amount that B&H ordered has now been shipped and so now the bulk of the allocation will go to another reseller until their initial order has been fulfilled etc?

I have to say that B&H has done a great job of listening to all of us who have used them as a sounding board... only because BMD doesn't have "live chat".

We get your camera, we ship your camera. It's possible shipments to us are held until there's a sufficient quantity for some sort of discount, but in this particular situation I know of no such activity.

I contacted B&h yesterday and I got this ;

" It is accurate that we have been receiving the camera from Black Magic and shipping out the orders in the order that they were originally received. At the rate that Black Magic has been shipping out this camera, we expect to be able to ship this camera to you within the next 5 to 7 weeks. "

Seriously, I am just updating the guys who ordered from B&H , now I know it's not B&H fault, they are doing a great job!

For people like me living in this part of the world it's hard to get decent production equipment if it wasn't for B&H.
As for BMD , I guess I should thank them for the BMCC, it will save me a lot of money, because at the moment all my films are shot on a rented RED.

The wait is similar to a guitarist playing on a rented guitar, and waiting for his custom made guitar.

Just off the phone with B&H... My rig is shipping today!

Even though I placed the order on 6/29/12 and it shipped today, there's no way to tell based on canceled EF orders for the MFT, how many places (or days) I moved up the food chain. Alas, the time for complaining will come to an end and a time for creativity will begin... until I have something new to complain about

I ordered two cameras... one from B&H on July 29th and I'm still waiting on it. I also ordered a second camera from Adorama on September 27th, and I received that camera on February 5th.

Not sure what the situation is with B&H... my guess is that they probably had a lot more early pre-orders than Adorama. However, I guess they could be receiving smaller shipments or delayed shipments for some reason as well. Subsequently, as a backup, I placed an order for a second camera at Adorama in early Feb so we'll see which one arrives first. It seems like Adorama is shipping pre-orders from late 2012 / early 2013 at this point, so I may end up getting that one sooner.

Just talked with BH today to upgrade my EF order to include the switronix PB 70 (same as Adorama package) The rep on the phone said they were in July with order Fulfillment. I ordered 10/5, so no camera in my near future, but at least I get the PB-70 for only a hundred extra! Its the small things...

Did the same thing a couple of weeks ago, I ordered 4 days after you did! I wonder if Adorama will get to shipping October orders first?

Few people have said their January orders from Adorama have been shipped, otherwise they are for sure in November. Check the Adorama thread for more details.

Yeh, they're probably into July preorders now. I preordered on 6/20 and received my camera last Thursday. So impressed!

Latest on this forum (from what I can tell) is July 4th, shipped or received on the 22nd.
