Be careful with your adapters.....

Sorry for the cross post from BMCUser.

I don't know which adapter did it, but with the super tight BMC mount one of my adapters grated off 2 of my EF contacts. Luckily the iris and IS still work.

Some one on the BM forum suggested that it might be from a "chipped" adapter and I'm sure that is what has caused it. Time to get the chip off of them. A sticky has been added about this to the BMCUser Forum

BM support said it would have to be sent to Singapore and the repair cost would be huge and not worth it.

Just to clarify BM support said it would not be worth fixing?

And why Singapore?

Now I've asked for a quote to see what the cost is. It looks like a simple board replacement from the outside, but who knows from the inside.

While the damage won't be covered under warranty, it's not going to cost a lot to fix. Once you have the downtime and want to get it sorted, contact tech support and speak to Kaspar. He'll sort you out.

You should only have to pay for shipping to and from our Fremont office in the US which won't be much.

Ah, that is it! Just looked at the "chip" fiberglass and I'd say thats what did it. Might be good for a general note from BM about not using them!
