Hopefully BMD will consider adding a new power-on safety feature in a future BMCC firmware. For example, maybe BMD can change the power-on functionality so you have to press & hold both the Stop and Power buttons for 2 seconds to turn on the camera.
Meanwhile, maybe this issue is another good reason for buying the
BMCC version of the GRID LCD loupe? Just a thought ...
As shown in the attached photo, the GRID loupe's
magnetic frame protrudes a bit from the back of the BMCC.
If you cut a piece of thin, flat, steel approx. the size & shape of the back of the BMCC, it can be temporarily affixed to the GRID's magnetic frame, such as while packed for transit. The steel will both protect the LCD
and prevent the power button from being pressed accidentally.
