Dual Screen Layout Monitors Crash - DR studio 14.01

PostWed Oct 25, 2017 5:11 pm

I am experiencing black screen monitor crashes when trying to use DR in dual screen mode. The crashes appears random, sometimes scrubbing timelines, sometimes cutting clips in the monitor. I have checked everything i can think of - Graphics card load, cables, etc. Working in single screen mode is fine, even with the 2nd monitor turned on and left for windows desktop use. When the crashes occurs (at least once an hour) the screens turn off into standby, but computer is still powered, however i can only get the monitors back up again by a cold boot. Is anyone else getting this problem and has it been identified as a DR problem? I didn't get this in 12.5. Am now having to work in s/s mode until solved, which is frustrating the hell out of me! Any pointers would be appreciated.

May be not exactly the same issue as you, but I'm also experiencing a dual screen monitors crash,
But for me it is since DR 12.5.

Currently, before activating the dual screen mode,
To bypass this problem, I need to first to select the media page, I change the primary display to Display 2 , I clic to color tab and then I change the primary display to Display 1.

I found this bypass on this thread below:

I just hope it will be fixed soon.

I don't have a fix for you, but I can give what might be a helpful tip. I switched over from using dual screen to single screen and manually stretching the single screen view across my two monitors. It's a bit of pain that Windows won't remember sit setup, so I have to reposition the UI across the two screens at the start of each session.

But what I like about it is that now the timeline extends horizontally across both monitors. I really like having the extra timeline horizontal real estate.

Thanks for input guys. I have raised a ticket and been asked to submit logs once current project finished, so will post any findings on this when available.

Not seen that behavior here. Been running two monitors on 12.5 and now 14.0.1.

I double click on the titlebar at the top of application window that encloses Resolve. That switches it to being resizeable.

Hi Peter, thanks for answering what must have seemed like a stupid question on stretching. Thing is my resolve window has no resizable controls showing top right, hence my assuming it's a locked full size. Am i missing something in settings for this?
