Adorama BMCC PreOrder status

Did any of you early Feb. guys get any shipping confirmations on your orders yet?

Called Adorama this morning, CR said that the shipping charge on my CC was just a hold amount for the shipping, also to retain my order or something like that.

I am still listed as backordered, Helen does this sound right?

Same with me, I had a $319 charge on my credit card that was "pending" according to Discovers site. Called Adorama and they said its just to verify that my card is still an active card to use for when my Camera comes in, but its still officially on backorder.

I have the same charge on a 2/5 order. I'm going to recklessly assume that this means they have an incoming shipment with my camera on it.

Woohoo! Just received a shipping notice from Adorama. I ordered on January 24, 2013.

FWIW, I had checked my account earlier today (as in, just a few hours before I received the shipping notice) and my account still showed the BMCC as Back Ordered. There were no other indications that it would be shipping until I received my shipping notice. Couldn't be happier with Adorama.

I cannot believe Adorama is shipping 2013 pre-orders when my July 12' order from BH is still pending

Oh yes, no one is shipping it, I just think people want to get an idea when they pre-ordered the MFT vs the latest shpping of the EF versions.

As Grant said, they wanted to put a big dent into the EF pre-orders, so seeing a February EF model being shipped may be a good sign that the MFT models aren't that far away.

That actually sounds like a pretty good race as B&H are on their August orders, and adorama is sweeping into februrary!

Got to love Adorama

I got a email at 8 this morning saying my CC had a problem. It explains that my bank has declined a payment of around $3k. It further explains that they only try and obtain a minimal amount from the card (I thought $3k was around the whole amount!).

Just getting the mail made me thought I had joined the "Happy brigade".

However I did notice that the email referred to a different order number than the one on the website!?

So anyway my bank has no record of an attempt to use the card!

And of course Adorama are closed. So even thought some automatic system is still working there is no one to talk to. AARRGGHH

But might be getting closer . . . .

If I was waiting for an EF I would have cancelled my UK order long ago and placed an order with Adorama. It is clear even to a 6yrs old that some region are getting more cameras than others and over in the US and Adorama delivery are confirm within a week or 2.

Not as many people ordered from Adorama as other places. And Europe is a much bigger region. just think of each region as a pool being filled by water at the same rate. an olympic sized pool wont fill up as quickly as a toy inflatable pool.

Ordered from B&H on 1/17/13...on backorder. After reading this thread, I placed an order from Adorama on 3/11/13 (order pending). Whichever delivers first wins the $. But if they both ship, I'll offer one for sale here on the forum for what I paid for it + shipping.

I spoke with Helen who was very awesome for providing me with useful info about my order. From what she could gather she said that they do not expect to see a shipment from BM this week, and that they will be closed for Passover so if you did not or do not get your notice this week, then it is unlikely that you will see an update on your order until around April 3rd. Thank you again to Helen for being the most active rep from a reseller I've ever seen on forums. Your responses were clean, concise, and gave exactly what was asked for.

Goodluck to the rest of you guys! I didn't have to wait long, but I really feel for the guys who ordered last April still with no camera, cheers.

There won't be anyone available to contact customers, so no. I'll be checking emails from home, but there won't be anything much I can do to help with all the offices closed.

So after I posted earlier today, I got an email reply back from Helen stating that I was still back ordered. I ordered around 8pm EST on 2/7/13. So I told her that customer service had told me a few hours prior that my order would ship out today even though online it still shows back ordered.

Helen just got back to me and said that they received another order from BM but it hasn't been unpacked yet. But it should ship out tomorrow. In all likelihood this is the last shipment out before the Passover break. Will post if and when I get a shipping notice. Good luck all those just after the 2/7/13 order date. I've been searching and researching cameras for over 3 years, figuring out which one would be the best for my needs and my money. I was pulled along by dreams and hypes of a 3k $3,000 Scarlet, and a promise and rumor of an industry changing 5D mk. III, and then a 4k DSLR. But then I went to Australia last April and when I got back, well wouldn't you know it, an Australian company came out of nowhere and offered the Cinema Camera. a 2.5k 12-bit RAW/10-bit ProRes no codec BS wonder. And now after waiting for the moment I had the funds allocated, and waiting for the back order, it's finally arriving. the wait is over. just hope I don't die before it arrives.

I'm going to miss this thread...
